FPIO joins in #CelebrateMarriageOK Covenant Walk

Yesterday, the Family Policy Institute of Oklahoma joined with several other organizations to sponsor the Celebrate Marriage Oklahoma Stronger Together Covenant Walk 2014.

As you can see in this video, the rain and wind did not dampen the spirits of those who walked from the Civic Center to the State Capitol and released balloons to Celebrate Marriage. Inside, we heard from pastors and other community leaders as to why natural marriage is important for our society to uphold. We were reminded that God created marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman and that all children need their mom and dad.

As one participant stated, "We walk to promote, not to protest." And he's right. Regardless of what politics and courts do to revise the true definition of marriage, natural marriage should still be promoted because it is the ideal institution to bring a man and woman together to parent their children.

FPIO will continue to Celebrate Marriage as we work to protect families and strengthen communities.
